Healthy “Fast Food” Cheeseburger

Under 300cals, high in fiber, and dairy free!

This was literally SO good and took me maybe 15 minutes to make (hence the “fast food”). Better than your average burger, low in fat, and packed with nutrients! As many of you know I’m lactose intolerant so I made a dairy free version using these go veggie! lactose free cheese slices, but feel free to use whatever cheese you’d like (the macros are pretty similar to real cheese).

I really don’t know what else to say about it because you just have to go make it so let’s get to the recipe…

  • 40g mushrooms
  • 40g onions
  • 4 oz extra lean ground turkey
  • 1 slice cheese
  • 125g sweet potato

Shape your ground turkey into a patty and place in a pan with some PAM. In a separate pan, sauté your mushroom and onions while your burger cooks. Slice the sweet potato in rounds, pierce some holes in he rounds, and wrap in a damp paper towel. Microwave for 2 mins. Once the burger is ready, turn off the heat, add cheese, cover and let sit so the cheese can melt. Stack half of the rounds on the plate, add the burger, mushrooms and onions, and top with the second half of the sweet potato.

I topped mine with tomato slices and BBQ sauce, and served steamed broccoli on the side.

Macros for the burger stack: 293 cals (5g fat, 30g carbs (5g fiber), 34g protein)

People need to taste food like this because they will never believe it can replace an actual burger. It can!!! It also provides better macros and satiates better as well. Great idea!
