Have you ever been too lazy to go to the dining hall? Eating crackers and cookies for dinner? Well here I’m going to show you how you can be prepared with a home cooked meal in less than 10 minutes!
My sister Jackie was raving about her “new mac and cheese maker” that she picked up at the grocery store the other day for $7. I was happy she found a way to make boxes of mac and cheese at one time. You go girl.
But then it got me thinking one night- maybe I can cook my plain pasta in it? And toss in some chicken I saved from earlier in the day? So here I present to you how I cooked a home made meal with just a microwave in 10 minutes. To get started you will need the following:
Rapid Mac Cooker: You can buy this for around $7 at your local grocery store or Walmart/Target. It’s made for mac and cheese but cooks regular pasta too! Click here to buy one on amazon.
- Pasta of Choice
- Grilled & Ready Fully Cooked Frozen Chicken Strips
- Red Sauce
Add pasta to the rapid cooker and fill with water to the line marked on the dish. Microwave two and a half minutes. Stir. Repeat two more times for a total of ~8-9mins. Drain pasta. Microwave chicken strips for 1-2 minutes as instructed on package. Cut broccoli florets and wrap in a damp paper towel. Microwave one and half minutes. Combine pasta, chicken, broccoli, red sauce, and cheese in a bowl. Microwave an additional 30-45 sec to melt the cheese and heat the sauce a bit.
Voila! “Home cooked” meal from the comfort of your dorm room or office! I used Barilla Protein Plus pasta, and I know Tyson sells the Fully Cooked Chicken Strips. I am lactose intolerant so I used a Go Veggie Mozzarella Cheese Slice, along with Wegman’s Grandpa’s Pasta Sauce (which also has no lactose!).
